About Us
The Great Lakes Windsurfing
LLC is owned and operated by it's partner Members, Mark Beauman and David
Batchelor.
Mark has a M.S. Degree from Michigan State
University and teaches chemistry and mathematics at Grand Ledge High
School. He and his wife, Andrea, have four children and they all
sail. Mark first sailed at Harbor Springs, MI in 1984 and has been
hooked ever since. He also enjoys downhill skiing, snowboarding,
playing guitar and traveling with his family. He has sailed in
Hawaii, the Gorge and the Great Lakes.
Dave is retired from a 32-year
career of environmental protection with the State of Michigan and US EPA
in Washington D.C. His daughter Michelle is in her second year of
college. Dave began sailing 22 years ago and has sailed in Bonaire,
Barbados, the Gorge, Cape Hatteras and the Great Lakes. Dave enjoys
bow hunting, fly fishing and annual trips to the Gorge (with Mark) and
Bonaire (with Michelle, Ronda and Lander).
Ronda lives at Higgins Lake with her daughter, Lander.
She teaches Yogi and physical fitness. Ronda has been sailing for seven years and has
been to the Gorge twice.
She helps organize the Demo Tour and gives lessons to women and young
girls. She is a skier and runner and enjoys the outdoors and fly fishing.
Ronda is the cinematographer and helped produce the Airtime and Sessions
DVD's.
